DESCRIPTION:A monthly walking group especially for unpaid older carers or carers of older people. This is a chance to get outdoors\, stay active\, and connect with others. \nFirst Monday every month (except public holidays) meet at the front of South Yarra Senior Citizens Centre in Fawkner Park at 10.45am for an 11am start. From here we will take a walk through Royal Botanic Gardens and finish with a morning tea at 11.30am at Domain Brasserie. \nBookings are required for catering purposes. \nFor carers who live in the City of Melbourne or care for someone who does.

SUMMARY:Carer Cuppa Catch up with Craft
DESCRIPTION:To celebrate this year’s Carers Week\, we have a group craft activity for the carers to complete along with several craft ideas to work on\, followed by a catered lunch from a local cafe. \nThis day has been organised in conjunction with the carers that we are currently supporting. We would like to invite new mental health and or substance use carers into the centre and look forward to celebrating and supporting their caring roles. \nTo register for this event please call 1800 962 008 or email Grampiansmhwconnect@mindaustralia.org.au to speak with a Peer Practitioner who will assist you in registering. \nThe Grampians Mental Health and Wellbeing Connect Centre is a Department of Health funded service that supports families\, carers and supporters of people with mental health and substance use challenges. Support is given from a family and carer peer support perspective. All staff who work at the Centre have family carer lived experience.  This support happens in the drop in Connect Centre\, over the phone\, in carer peer support groups and through information sessions.

The success of the founding Canberra Alchemy Chorus has strongly informed UMFC’s approach in developing a local choir that fosters connection\, joy\, and wellbeing for participants and their carers. \nJoin the Chorus!\nUMFC have established an inclusive chorus which can be enjoyed by people living with dementia\, their carers and volunteers. DESCRIPTION:Carers will enjoy an elegant high tea featuring a selection of sweet and savoury refreshments in a relaxed and welcoming setting. The activity provides an opportunity for participants to connect with others\, enjoy meaningful conversation and take time out to focus on their wellbeing\, promoting social connection and community engagement. \nThis event is free to attend and morning tea is provided. Preschool aged children (0-6 years) are welcome. While you join the session\, a MyTime play leader will engage your children in meaningful play nearby. \nMyTime is a peer support program for parents and carers of children with disabilities\, developmental delays\, or chronic medical conditions. It offers connection\, support\, and resources in a safe and welcoming space. \nEligibility: Open to parents and carers of children up to 18 years of age with disability\, developmental delay\, or chronic medical conditions.
